about us

Godard's Red Hen Farm began in 1985.Starting with a small plot of a land we hoped to one day have a farm that could provide for our family and community. Now sitting on sixty acres of land, we are continually expanding and improving what we can provide and grow. We currently feature an apple orchard of about 1 acre with about 10 different varieties of apples. We also have an apiary and bees located in a couple other locations in the Pioneer Valley. Added to the farm in 2004 our vineyard provides some of the grapes we use for our wines, in 2012 & 2013 the new blueberry plantings went in. We hope they will produce all the blueberries needed for our blueberry wine.

To answer the question we are asked most often, no, we do not have red hens, nor do we sell eggs. We call ourselves Red Hen Farm after the children's story about the Little Red Hen, because like her, we did it ourselves.

Each year we try to expand our farm and learn new and better ways to do things to provide you with the best product available. In 2008 we began construction on our new barn/store front. The barn is now complete and is home to our new store and Mineral Hills Winery. In 2013 we added a 40x30 foot pavilion for added enjoyment. Throughout the year you can find us at local fairs including The 3-County Fair and The Big E also the Massachusetts Wine festivals. We are members of the Hampden County Beekeepers Association and Massachusetts Farmer Winery Association.

Please feel free to stop by anytime or give a call with questions! We look forward to hearing from you!
