What gives meaning to our lives? What is reality made of? Is ultimate reality present in our everyday experience? Who am I? What the heck is going on?!
This fall, join the Yoga Philosophy Nerds for a study of The Bhagavad Gita. This rich and compelling philosophical work raises these (and many more!) questions, with enormous depth, complexity and insight—illuminating powerful experiences that are at the very heart of human life. Through reading, discussion and contemplation, we will explore this extraordinary book in its examination of doubt, self-understanding and the essential knowledge that supports us in living fully in the world.
Note: Students will need a copy of The Bhagavad Gita. Some suggested translations:
-
Barbara Stoler Miller, The Bhagavad Gita: Krishna’s Counsel in Time of War
-
Stephen Mitchell, Bhagavad Gita: A New Translation
-
Eknath Easwaran, The Bhagavad Gita
Tuesdays, 7-8 PM, October 17th-November 14th (online only)
