Brooke Schnabel Paintings
April at the Anchor House of Artists, Brooke Schnabel exhibits a collection of vivid landscapes and figurative artworks, oils and watercolors, that have already delighted audiences in several venues in local scene and beyond. The delight is in play of sun across scenes at quiet harbors and broad, populated beaches. The canvases are so living, one can smell the salt coming off the surf where bathers are playing and the warm, perfumed moisture coming from the dark, wooded banks that line secluded harbors.
Of his work, Schnabel explains, “I keep painting because it is what I am most skilled at and because in my bones I believe what John Keats said, "Beauty is truth, truth beauty, - that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.”
