Event Description:
This course will give the student who is new to craft brewing an overview and hands on experience brewing beer. Class size is limited to six students. Classes meet for two hours once per week for six weeks. The total cost is $250. All ingredients and materials are included.

The first class will be an introduction to the course that will cover the basics of brewing beer at Smith Vocational High School, 80 Locust Street, Northampton. The next five classes will take place at Brew Practitioners Brewery and Taproom 36 Main Street, Florence.

For these classes, all equipment and materials will be supplied to the student. Upon successful completion of the class, students will have assisted in brewing a batch of beer from preparation to bottling. Our final class will conclude with a keg tapping, tasting and celebration at Brew Practitioners. Students must be 21 years of age or older.

This class is being taught by Joe Eckerle, Head Brewer at Brew Practitioners Brewery and Taproom. The first class will take place on Tuesday, May 3rd from 6-8 pm at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School.
