Come to Look Park once a month for Afternoon Tea! Each monthly tea will feature a different speaker or activity. Tickets are $10.00 per person and reservations are required. Teas will take place at the Garden House during the colder months. As the weather gets warmer, we will move outside. For questions or reservations, please call 413-584-5457.

The ABC’s of Genealogy: Getting Started with Family Research

Dave Robison, owner of Old Bones Genealogy of New England, is a professional genealogist from Western Massachusetts. He holds a Certificate of Genealogical Research from Boston University and has completed the 18-month ProGen course in Professional Genealogy.  Dave is the President of the Western Massachusetts Genealogical Society (WMGS) and of the Connecticut Society of Genealogists (CSG). He has held several positions for the New England regional Genealogical Conference in Springfield, Massachusetts and will be heavily involved with NERGC for the 2019 and 2021 conferences. He is the Registrar for the Pomeroy Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (MASSAR) and holds memberships at New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS), Massachusetts Society of Genealogists (MSOG) – Worcester Chapter, Central New York Genealogical Society (CNYGS), the Alabama Society of Genealogists (ASG), the Smokey Mountain Genealogical Society and many others.

Dave has taught dozens of courses in genealogical research at all levels. The subject matter has covered basic and intermediate research strategies, common pitfalls of family research, the use of off-line research facilities especially New England resources, DNA, utilizing Facebook and other social media for research.

He has written numerous articles for genealogical society newsletters and has written several book reviews for Federation of Genealogical Societies.

Dave is a resident of Chicopee, Massachusetts where he lives with his wife Karen, an RN for the Chicopee School System. Between them, they have 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
