Workshop: Introduction to Google Docs
Presented by: Pioneer Training
This class is an overview of Google Docs, Google's online word processor, and Google Drive, the online storage location for Google Docs. You’ll learn how to set up a local Google Drive folder, which automatically synchronizes with Google Drive on the Web. You’ll learn to create new documents in the Google Docs format, as well as how to work with Word documents in Google Docs and how to convert Word documents to Google Docs. The class will focus on basic formatting and editing techniques in Google Docs, as well as some special features, such as the Revision History, the Activity Pane, and how to extract text from PDF's. You'll also learn how to share documents with others, how to collaborate in real-time, and how to set permission levels for collaborators. Since it is a shared online tool, the class will also address best practices related to safeguarding confidential data.
Participants are encouraged to bring laptops and follow along with the instructor, but this is not required.
