Link&Learn with John Bass: What’s Draining Your Portfolio
What’s Draining Your Portfolio: Three factors in your control to keep more of your money and build wealth.
In this presentation, participants will learn how to keep more of their money and build wealth by focusing on three key factors they can control: investment costs, investment allocation, and investor behavior. They will see how even small investment and advisory fees can significantly erode returns over time and why “you don’t always get what you pay for” in investing. The concept of asset allocation will be introduced. Behavioral concepts such as paying yourself first will be illustrated. Finally, attendees will explore through relatable personas how personal values and habits—such as living for today versus prioritizing security—shape investment outcomes.

30 Poems in November!
30 Poems in November! is a well-known tradition. Over 60 people commit to write a poem a day during the month of November to raise funds to support Center for New Americans' free classes for immigrants. They enlist support from family and friends (over 700 of them!), and often share some of the poems they write.
The event culminates in a Reading & Celebration at the Poetry Center at Smith College on December 13th.
Business sponosors of this event will receive publicity at the Reading, publicity on Center for New Americans' Facebook page, and an opportunity to support the immigrants in our community who are also employees in many of our organizations.

Food Bank of Western Massachusetts: 17th March for the Food Bank
Join Us for the 17th Annual March for the Food Bank!
Every November, the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts teams up with Monte Belmonte of NEPM to lead a powerful march against hunger—covering 43 miles from Springfield to Greenfield. This two-day event brings together Monte, Congressman Jim McGovern, Food Bank Executive Director Andrew Morehouse, and a passionate community of supporters, all united to raise critical funds that help provide healthy meals to our Western Massachusetts community.
Why Participate?
Hunger is a reality for thousands of families in Western Massachusetts. By joining the march and fundraising, you’re making a direct impact—every dollar raised helps the Food Bank deliver food to those who need it. Your support ensures that no one in our community has to choose between food and other essentials.
The March spans two days, and you can decide how far you want to go—take on the full 43 miles or join for a portion of the journey. Every step counts toward ending hunger.
Be part of this incredible tradition. Walk with us, fundraise, and help create a stronger, healthier Western Massachusetts!
