Benny Woodard Jazz Quintet
The Northampton Community Music Center (NCMC) presents a jazz concert featuring the Benny Woodard Quintet on Thursday August 10, 2017, at 7:30 PM in NCMC’s Feinstein Hall at 139 South Street in Northampton. General admission is $10 at the door.
This concert features Benny Woodard, a jazz drummer, composer, and alum of the Northampton Community Music Center. The quintet also includes New York-based artists Anton Derevyanko on tenor saxophone, Hassani Cummings on alto saxophone, Franz Robert on piano, and Jason Schwartz on bass. Originally from South Hadley, Massachusetts, Woodard has gone on to play at venues such as The Blue Note, Cornelia St Cafe, Iron Horse Music Hall, and Jordan Hall. He looks forward to returning to NCMC, where he developed much of his musicianship as a student at the center.
